Best (value-wise) place to send model 19 for action and tuning
I've got a mint nickel 19-4 but the action is atrocious and the trigger is somewhere in the neighborhood of 87lbs.
Who should I be looking at to send this to fixer up?

Nelson Ford is my number one choice.
Frank Glenn is my second choice.
I value craftsmanship and quality over value... so those are the two I would let work on my classic revolvers
Both in the Phoenix area. Guess it depends where you live. There are a few good East coast and northern gunsmiths too. I'll let people with experience post their names.

Agreed. I'm not wanting to cheap out, and will gladly pay more for work that is worth it. But I am new to the game of Smith revolvers and figure there is an area of diminishing returns somewhere... Problem is, the only shop I'm familiar with is cylinder and slide

Nelson Ford: The Gunsmith, Inc.
He has done three of my revolvers. All excellent. Eccentric, blunt and to the point. But good.3-4 week turnaround. My wife picked up a revolver for me when I couldn't make it down. She liked him. Even she said he was funny and nice.
Frank Glenn: Frank Glenn-Glenn Custom Complete Gunsmithing Service Glendale AZ
Real nice guy with great personality.
Call either and have a discussion. You can't go wrong with either.

Honestly, no. I'm new to revolvers and am kind of intimidated by the thought of tearing it down. Don't want to screw it up

Give Denny Reichard a call, he's one of the best at working on Smith revolvers. You can check him out at Gmail or call him at 574-223-3316. He comes highly recommended.
