Default RIG grease and nickel?

I assume this is a good option for safe storage of an old nickel gun but want to check with the expertise on this forum. I'm a big fan of Renwax but this gun doesn't leave the safe very often. The safe is humidity controlled and the gun is in open air on a rack.
Thank you!

Default Ren

I like both. I use RIG for lubrication of some metal to metal parts but I think Ren is better for external and storage. You can always re-apply from time to time which is fun.

RIG will be better for corroson resistance in the long run, if you are going to store for a long time. If you like to handle the gun from time to time, then ren wax will make that easier, and, if you keep it in the humidity controlled environment and clean and reapply semi-annually, ren wax will work probably just as well.

I've never had any issues at all with Rig Products including their grease. Been using it for 40+ years and on Nickel too. If you have followed some of my threads, you will know I am a huge Rig aficionado. I use the Universal Grease, the +P grease, and the Rig#2 oil. BTW they are also compatible with each other and the Rig Oil even contains some of the grease in solution.

I use the Rig#2 Oil internally on my 1911's and the +P Grease on the rails, slide, barrel exterior, and bushing. GREAT STUFF!

I recently posted a thread about long term storage using he Rig Grease and it is just below this thread. For long term storage or in humid environments, disassemble firearm, apply Rig Grease and reassemble. Obviously, this would be done for long term and not on guns you regularly use - just too much work.
