Question Sight press direction on M&P

Reading a lot lately (to expand my knowledge) and i'm reading that m&p guns of the newer vintage can be pressed in and out (sights) from either side. Is this true? On person even challenges what others say (press out left to right, press in right to left) by giving s&w number and stating to ask the technical desk the same question. So is this true? Is the left to right, right to left a leftover from the older armorers that has carried over almost like an old wives tale?

My directions from Dawson Precision for the Shield says the front sight cut is symmetrical and can be pressed from either side. My examination when the sight was out seemed to confirm this.

You know what's strange. Installed hiviz sights today, looks like they lean a bit to the left, but could be my eyes. My shield with factory tritium sights looks the same. Is it an m&p thing?
