Mod 65-3 Cylinder latch issue
Hello All, was needing some advice on a problem I'm having with my 65-3. It seems the threaded post has come off the bar. I don't know if I should just order another bar or it mine is repairable. I'm at a loss on how to secure the threaded post back into the bar or it it's possible. It looks to possibly be pressed in at the factory. Also, if I just order a replacement bar from Numrich if I need the Early Style (Has Square Block at Base of Threads) or the other one they offer for this model. The #65-3 is a 1982 model
Any help would be appreciated Thanks

Welcome to the Forum!
Once the threaded portion breaks off the bolt, the part need to be replaced. I believe this is your part.
Look at picture and measurements...... if you live in the USA, and this is your part - I will send it to you (as a gift)
Send me a PM with your mailing address if it matches yours

Now that's some "EXCELLENT Customer Service" VM! The part looks correct and your assessment is 100% correct.
I have to say, that is a part that usually never breaks - - must have been made on December 24th

The same thing happened with a used 2" 64 I bought. First time I took it to the range the cylinder latch fell off. I thought, "No big deal. Must've just come loose." I picked it up and realized it still had the threaded part of the bolt stud still inside it. Sure enough, it had essentially sheared off the bolt, with the rest of the stud still attached. What was weird was that it was fine when I did my initial inspection and cleaning. It didn't break off until firing.
I placed an order with Numrich for a new bolt and had it back up and running in a week.

Certainly inspiring and with out a doubt, a very nice thing to do. I hope I have the opportunity to help another forum member in a similar way one day.

You'll need this one.....
Bolt (aka Cylinder Catch) | Gun Parts Corp.
As a former PD armorer, I have several of these in my parts bin if you are unable to find one.
