Add sight black coating back?
Installed a set of hiviz sights on my 2.0 and tried removing the brass marks (part of the punch got through the tape) with brass polish and it removed the black coating from the sight. Can I use a bluing pen?

I ordered Birchwood Casey super black fla5. Hopefully that does the trick. Other suggestions are welcome.

Brownell's Dicrophan T4 is a cold blue that gives a dead black color, unlike other cold blues that have a blue color.
It also seems to be more durable then most others, and it doesn't start to puddle after a couple of coats.

Will the cold blue (Birchwood Casey presto mag) hurt the finish of the gun if it sits under the sight?

Colds blues can leave discoloration around areas where it's been applied.
This blotch is permanent, so make sure to apply it only where needed, and keep it off everywhere else.

Ironically, a bluing pen is an excellent tool for scrubbing off brass marks without damaging the original finish......

You can also use flat black spray paint after masking things off. I've used it a few times on sights and it works very well and seems to last a long time.

I ordered Birchwood casey super black in flat. Thinking of masking it off and putting it on with a qtip thinly to match the finish originally on it

In a pinch , for a qick temporary fix...black permenant marking pen.
Most everyone has one lying around the home or office.

The best way to remove brass sight drift marks is to use a good copper solvent on the area.
Put some on a patch and apply to the area for a soak and gentle rub.
