I couldn't find any other place to ask about this so I've posted it here. Moderator please move it to a more suitable location if there is one.
I have A Colt California Gold Rush Model 22 Scout that was originally gold plated. I recently acquired it and much of the plating is worn off. Is there a place someone can recommend that will re-plate this revolver? Thanks in advance.
N.B: I was going to try to get a kit and try it myself from Texas Platers but as near as I can tell they are no longer in business.

Caswell Mfg (NY) has a line of brush plating kits in the $45 range incl gold plating kits. They work on the same idea as the Texas Plating Kit.
...if you're still thinking of going in that direction.

The only plater I have ever used is Reliable Electro Plating in Chartley, MA.
I've always sent them the parts already polished and with instructions to do no more additional polishing. The plating has always been first class. Quick service. I've had nickle, silver and gold done,,complete handguns and parts.

They do offer strip of old plating, polishing & replating service,, and they do have an FFL so you can send them a firearm no problem.
They ask that any parts be disassembled.

Quite a few gunsmiths & engravers use them.

After multiple tries at contacting Colt service by telephone(they don't publish an email address) and sitting on hold for over an hour; I decided to write them a snail mail letter asking what can be done to renew the finish on the Colt revolver. That was weeks ago and so far I've heard Zip from them. So much for customer service which as far as I can tell means Go away and leave us alone!
I have located a local gun service which I believe will refresh the plating and I just wanted to let everyone know what to expect from Colt!
