Default What is the 5th Screw on the Trigger Guard For?

Do you have to remove the screw on the trigger guard to remove the side plate and cylinder? Didn’t get a close enough look at it.

No. That screw secures the plunger and spring that tension the cylinder stop. I would leave it be unless you are having issues with the stop, or the stop needs to be removed.

What's that screw for?....

Near as I can see, adding about 20/30% to the value vs. a 4 screw.....

Not a big deal to remove the plunger. If your revolver is really dirty under the sideplate, it is a good idea to strip out the mechanism and clean all parts, plus remove and clean the plunger/spring as well as the cylinder stop. If not, spray if from the inside with some good quality aerosol synthetic oil.

Wink 5 th screw...............

I'm with 'Wamike' as that is really the 4 th screw, the 5th screw just holds down the side plate at the top, and "adds" lots of $$$$ to the guns value.....
