Smile Perfect Bench Block!

I was wandering around Harbor Freight the other day and I spotted what I believe is the nearly perfect bench block for gun work, knocking out pins, and such. Rigid, but non marring, large enough to span an auto slide or frame, several recesses to catch pins and screws in---

Behold, the $7.00 rubber wheel chock!

Now that's absolutely brilliant. Thanks for the tip! I'm on my way to pick one up now. Somebody once posted about transforming a hockey puck and I've been trying to find one.

I use a hockey puck with a 1" hole drilled in it but sometimes it's a bit small. I'll have to pick up a chock next time I go to the store.

Sweet idea. I have a hockey puck that HK issued during an armorers course years ago, great for small jobs but a bit small for larger ones.

Another good idea for a "bench block". I also have several hockey pucks with an array of holes and slots.

I think that was me with the Hockey puc. I've never seen a
real hockey puc. The ones I made bench blocks out of were
the ones they play "street" hockey with. A hard rubber. Have
since found out you can buy them in packs of 3, anywhere
that sells sports equippment. They are inexpensive.

I've made a few copies of Starrett's Bench Block but from a hard rubber Hockey Puck. They work GREAT for G-smithin'. I also use standard as-is Pucks to support Receivers, Stocks, etc. when being worked on so they don't move. PS: When my son asked me where his Hockey Pucks were I just shrugged my shoulders - lol!
