Are the S&W trigger sizes one size fits all

frames or is it the hammer? I've got a target (.5") trigger tha I do not know what frame it goes in or if it will fit all frames. I also have a flash chromed target hammer that I can't tell what frame it goes in.. Would like to sell them, but do not want to mislead anyone as to what they fit

K,L, and N hammers and triggers are all the same

I am anything but an expert but I thought a trigger was a trigger was a trigger, but it was the hammer that had different paths to travel.

Triggers are the same....K, L, N hammers are not.

If you can post a picture of the hammer with a scale next to it perhaps we can tell what frame it's for?

That's what I thought. Thanks. I'm pretty sure the hammer is for an N frame-I vaguely remember getting it to put on my mountain gun.

I always thought that all K-L-N triggers were the same.
That was until I attempted to install a target trigger in my Model 69.
Discovered that the post in the frame is slightly larger in diameter so as to make fitting the trigger impossible.

If you still have the gun and the trigger, you may want to give it another try. I suspect you just gave up too soon on parts that are intentionally set up with minimum tolerances. This makes them sometimes difficult to install, but not impossible in my experience.

If it really was too small, you could just make the trigger hole bigger with a carbide reamer (pretty cheap).

The model 69 I think has the newer MIM trigger which is not interchangeable with the older forged triggers.

THAT SOUNDS LIKE A REASONABLE APPROACH, Toolguy. JUST GO SLOWLY, AND CHECK FOR FIT, OFTEN......

I installed a .312" Ranger trigger in a .32-20 from the 1900s once upon a time.

Most times, the forged and MIM triggers are interchangeable. I don't have a M69 to check.
