I am in need of a main spring for a M&P 4th change from about 1925-1930. What's the best source? John

Current K-L-N Frame mainspring will work just fine. S&W, Brownells, Jack First, Just about anywhere that sells gun parts.

Try Wolff, they offer a selection of spring rates for you to pick from.

If you need a standard K frame mainspring, PM me your address and I'll send you one.

I'm in Quincy, just a few miles above Pike County. My home gun club is the Pike-Adams Sportsmen s Alliance, in Barry, IL. I'm pretty familiar with Pike County.
I bought a drawer chest full of gun parts at an auction 3-4 years ago, and there must have been a dozen mainsprings, and J Frame mainsprings. I'm thinking the original owner replaced springs in every S&W he bought. Springs are like new. HOpe this puts your K Frame back in commission.
You may or may not recall, but I believe I bought an NAA .380 from you several years ago. Great little gun, but awfully heavy, so it was replaced with an LCP then later an LCP2 for pocket carry.

As you reminded me, I do remember that transaction. The weight is why I sold it, too.
