Nice Grip repair

I want to give a shout out to forum member spdguns who I found on this forum and who repairs stocks. I sent him pictures of my numbered to gun stocks which were in rough shape. We made an arrangement and I sent him the stocks and I couldnt be happier with the fine repair he did and can confidently recommend his stock repair services. Thanks David I'm very happy with the work you did on my stocks.

Would live to see the AFTER pictures of photo #3 & #4 views, as you only showed the before pic's. Looks like a nice job - just curious how the two chipped spots came out - can't see them in the ones you provided.

Posted with permission-Pic 1-.Stocks as received. The right panel was the important one, it had the serial number. It has a chip missing from the upper right corner by the medallion and a significant crack running from the base up toward the stock screw eustacion. Left panel had a chip missing from the bottom front corner and it was a slightly lighter shade.
Pic 2. Opening the crack enough to get the epoxy in. The trick is knowing when to stop. Wood this old can be brittle and explode if you aren't gentle.
Pic 3. Injecting epoxy into the crack.
Pic 4. Using gentle compressed air to get the epoxy up into all of the nooks and crannies.
Pic 5. Good squeeze out!

Pic. 3 Using my 1972 no dash 67 (early serial number!!) as a mock up guide, again no judging allowed
Pic 4. Color matching the repaired area. At this point, stocks are sanded down and ready to finish
Pic 5. Ready to start topcoating

Last two pics of the stocks ready for final finishing. I severely tore a rotator cuff so the pics stopped after these two. Seven coats of finish, allowed to cure for a week and then a coat of Ren-Wax. Thanks Kevin!

Repairs like that are simple -- but not easy! They require the one thing far too many people lack -- patience. Go slow, take care, the job gets done, eventually! Nice work.
