Default 63-5 cylinder hangs

Have a 63-5 that I like a lot but the cylinder is difficult to open. I push the release forward then it takes a pretty good bump to swing the cylinder out. Is there an area that I could stone lightly to make the release easier?

Be sure the ejector rod is screwed in tight (reverse threads). Put a few spent cases in cylinder when tightening...

Look at the area where the bolt pin comes through the recoil plate. The head of the pin needs to be flush with the plate. If the head of the pin is below the surface of the plate it will be difficult to open. If this is the case you need a new bolt fitted or I can tell you how to fix the one you have.

Make sure everything in this area is clean and tight first.
