I have installed reduced power "D" springs on my Beretta 92FS, 92S and M9 with good results (~2lb DA reduction). I just ran across these Hammer Spring, Reduced Power, S&W Large Frame Auto, 17# at Wilson Combat and thought I might install them on my 10 3rd gen's. Has anyone installed these in their 3rd Gen full sized pistols. If so, can you give me an idea of the pull weight reduction I can expect? Thanks in advance!
I tried a Wolff spring kit which contained a 16# and a 17# in my 4506 and liked the results. Both worked fine with CCI's.
Supposedly factory is ~20# so it was a fair difference.
76 cents seems like a low risk 'try out' if you are already ordering something.
I have and used a 92s model in local USPSA matches and beforehand I replaced each & every spring in the gun with new factory beretta springs including the "D" hammer spring. The "D" spring for those who may not know is the factory spring that came on the DAO Beretta 96 model. I was very happy with the upgrade. What I would suggest is replacing the trigger spring for the upgraded trigger spring from Wolff as the factory spring can break if used often enough in competition where you're shooting a lot.
Thanks for the replys. I went ahead and ordered the springs. One e they are installed and I have gone to the range, I will post the results. I don't own a trigger pull guage to get accurate before and after measurements, so my subjective "feel" is all I can attest to.
