Default VCI paper and nickel finish

I cannot find a 'storage and maintenance' category so am posting my question here. Does VCI (volatile corrosion inhibitor) paper have any negative interaction with nickel finished surfaces? Or alloy frame weapons? TIA

I've stored 3 Nickel guns in VOC paper for at least 20 years with no ill effects. In fact I usually change the paper every 5 years with fresh stuff as the chemical protectants do wear off.

Some of the older VCPI papers said that they might stain bright nickle but that it could be cleaned off.

Never had any Nickel stained by VOC paper. Never heard that before ether. My prized matching set of Nickeled Colt SAA's and Nickeled 1951/52 Chief's Special I/J Frame have had no ill effects from VOC - even after at least 20 years wrapped in it.

If some guys have had ill effects it might be due to inferior paper, contaminated paper, extreme storage conditions, humidity or another reason.
