Default .280 rear sight dovetail

Anybody know of any pistols (other than a FEG Hi-power) that have a rear sight dovetail with a .280 base?

I picked up a FEG Hi-power the other day and didn't notice that the rear sight was missing until I took delivery.

The gun is just a shooter, so I don't want to spend much on it, but obviously it needs a rear sight.

Looking for something inexpensive with a base width of .280 - or something close enough to be easily modified with a file to fit a .280 dovetail.

Any suggestions?

First I would seek the correct sight by contacting Browning. Many companies will send small parts for free.

Next I would set up a search to notify you whenever an original Brng rear sight is listed.

From my reading I had the understanding that the Browning and FEG sights aren't interchangeable. One of the few parts that aren't I believe. I think the Browning is a standard .375" dovetail vs. the FEG which is more of an oddball at .280"

It might be better to just cut the dovetail on the slide to match a standard Browning sight.

I'd agree - if I had the tools to do it myself. Unfortunately, I don't have a mill & I'm not that confident that I could achieve the necessary level of precision with a hand file.

Of course the goal of keeping the cost to a minimum pretty much rules out the idea of having it done by a gunsmith.

So that leads me to finding a sight to fit a .280" dovetail - or one that is close enough that I can modify it to work (like a .300 dovetail). I'm willing to risk a few bucks on fudging up a sight, but would rather not risk messing up the dovetail in the slide.

So does anyone know of any other gun with a .280" (or slightly larger) dovetail?

Well, I guess my unanswered questions are moot now.
I just picked up an original rear sight at the gun show for $7.
Drifted right in with a few hard raps with a plastic screwdriver handle.
