Default Sometimes you need 3 hands
Thought of a way to mount a revolver to clean the top of the barrel/top strap area. I always hold the gun in a way it could fall on my lap to run the edge of a patch in the small area and run it back and forth to clean.

Had some pieces of cleaning rods in .22, .38 & .45 cal with the threads broke off. Drilled holes in the 2x4 that support the work bench top the correct diameter but not through the wood. Holds the gun at an angle to do what you need with 2 hands. Pieces of plastic tube are used with the shorter barrels so the rods don’t stick out through the cylinder window. Larry

HOWEVER, is you detail strip a single action revolver you need four hands, a neighbor, a small boy, plus someone to record all the bad words you will be using.

Not a stripping fixture Jimmy, just a handy cleaning aid. Hope to help people clean an area that is hard to get to. Actually a while back, people used old cut up small pieces of aluminum or fiberglass screens to scrub the area. Larry

Since I prefer to remove the grips when I clean a revolver it's not problem to clamp the bottom of the grip frame into a padded vise.

That way I can exert force in any direction without worrying about it sliding off the rod.

The rods are at an angle that the gun won’t slide off. It’s a quick way to clean certain areas with both hands. The rods are taken out after being used or changed to clean a different caliber. I use a rod for .22, .38 and .45 caliber. Larry
