Default bent handle hand ejector

My friend who owns a Gun Store, right across the road, is that lucky or what, called and asked me to com over. He had an 32-20 Smith that the owners just wanted rid of. Why ????. so I looked it over no finish, mostly brown, no pits, bore is great. But looked odd, the grip frame has been bent in closer to the frame. Must have had small hands. It is not damaged or distorted . I am going to bolt it to my mill table and see if I can repair it. Actually looks factory done. If success full I will post before and after pics. I gave my friend 100.00 to give the owners. After clean up I will toss in the bluing tanks, should make a nice shooter

Rescue guns are as much fun as rescue dogs.....gotta love 'em both. Good luck with your project.

I have one from the 1920's just like your gun and have always wondered if Smith made it that way. Posted it a few years ago and nobody really had any idea as to why the grip frame was different. I still wonder, but it is nice to see there is another gun out there just like mine.

It looks like someone wanted to make a Bisley look alike.

Here’s one that sold on gunbroker a while ago. Same handle. There must have been a reason for this not uncommon mod as there are to many still around to this day. My guess would be small hands

This was usually caused by using the revolver as a bludgeon or other device. Repaired quite a few through the years by restoring the original configuration with a heavy leather mallet.

What you mean this might be an actual factory Mod. Just kidding but may be one 3 or 4 or 5? might raise the value by about 3 bucks.

Maybe it is from a steady diet of +P ammo?????
All that heavy, steady recoil.....
