My 686 has a steel cylinder. I use a bronze brush and bore brush, Hoppes No. 9, One Shot Cleaner and sometimes Ballistol to clean it. I lube with Breakfree CLP.
Do these products work OK with titanium or should I use something else?
I will switch to a nylon bore and cleaning brush to clean the cylinders.
I use breakfree CLP exclusively because that's what my 325 PD manual says to use. I'm sure plenty of other stuff would work, but CLP works just fine and is more than adequate for cleaning and lube. I wouldn't ever use a bronze brush on my mine. All I use are ramrodz swabs to clean the cylinder and bore and a paper towel to wipe of the exterior.
I put 175 light powder coated lead reloads through my 929 today and it cleaned up just fine with CLP. Unless a bore has a bunch of lead fouling I don't use a bronze brush.
