Default Lowest ballpark trigger pull weight with only polish work

What's the ballpark trigger pull one can achieve using factory springs and a top notch polish/action job of the internals?

This assumes the action/polishing job has every trick in the book thrown at it.

Curious more than anything.

To the best of my knowledge, S&W revolvers with a good trigger job and factory springs can get down into the 8-9lb range without compromising reliability.

Where would I send my j frames for an action job like that?

I can't get lower than 8.3 with a spring kit and stone/polish.

Chris at Trinity Gunsmith in in Antioch, CA reduced my first N-frame from off the scale (11+) to 8+/- by polishing only. When he polished and installed a reduced rebound spring, 3 other N and L-frames were all around 8#s. The single actions remained the same; 4# - 5#s.

I don't have any personal experience with his work, but I've read nothing but good reviews for Karl Sokol at Chestnut Mountain Sports.

You may also want to try contacting Grant Cunningham. He's in Oregon and before retiring was one of the top revolversmiths around. While he doesn't do gunsmithing anymore, he might be able to point you in the direction of a revolversmith in your area.
