Default Victory 22 Slide Problem

I purchased a Victory 22 about 3 months ago and probably have around 800 rds through it. The problem I'm having is after the last shot the slide will not lock back. I have three mags and it does it with all three. I keep the gun clean as I do the mags as well. Any suggestions?

If you cycle it manually with an empty mag installed does it work properly?

If so, your ammunition may be cycling the slide back far enough to extract and eject, but not far enough back to lock the slide open. I would suggest a different ammo, if you haven't already tried this.

Check the Magazine for burrs where it locks the slide back. Most of the time this is a magazine issue and can usually be corrected with a file. Check the slide lock mechanism for burrs as well.

I have no experience with the relatively new Victory but I have seen other magazines on inexpensive firearms that are a bit thinner than normal and a bit more crude than higher end ones. A little tweaking might be the answer.

I had the same problem right after I bought my victory until I noticed that I rest my left thumb (Right hand shooter) in the slide stop and preventing it from engaging the slide. Problem solved.
