Default Sending Gun Back to S&W

Been a while since I did it. I’m gonna send my M&P Bodyguard .380 back to get the new metal magazine catch installed. I know they’ll email me a label to ship. So I have to drop the gun back at a UPS Center, drop it off at my FFL to ship through his UPS guy (I can’t imagine him charging me for all the transfers I’ve done with him) or does UPS come to my door to pick it up(which I’d rather not do)? Can I just hand it off to a UPS driver on the street?

I know they ship it back right to my door no ffl needed. And any idea how long they have it?

Last time I sent one back it was via FedEx. S&W sent me the label by e-mail, I printed the label, attached it to the box, and FedEX came by the house and picked it up at a pre-appointed time. Make sure you remove any aftermarket items (grips ?) on the gun and the magazines.....and don't send the original box/case. If you send these items, you may never see them again.

How long it will take depends on the work being done, and how far behind they are at the moment.

Follow the instructions. It is Fed Ex. You call he number given, give them the priority code and Fed Ex comes and picks it up. They also will deliver it back to your house, You or an adult have to be there to sign for it.

I just sent my BG380 back 3 weeks ago. As stated above it was a FedEx label. I was told it would be 4-6 weeks.

I sent a 639 back on recall. S&W provided the prepaid label, I dropped it off at FedEx. I was instructed to tell the counter person it was a firearm. She recognized the address and knew before I said anything.

I realize recall may be on a different timeline. I had my gun back in just under three weeks. No FFL involved either sending or receiving. Did require adult signature on return.

I have a sw bg 380 with the same mag catch problem I’ve ordered a new metal one from Galloway Which I will install myself but in the meantime I came up with an easy but effective temp fix just a small thin piece of spring steel on the side of the clip bent into an L shape and the clip is snug to the bottom of grip instead of the gap before
