Bench Block
Viewing S&W Revolver hammer nose replacement on YouTube the Gunsmith used a Bench Block designed for this. Does anyone know where this block can be purchased ?
Thanks,
Jimmy

you can also make one out of a hockey puck - works great, custom size the holes you need, can pick up a puch for $1 at most sports stores

I have a similar block.
The one on YouTube was for S&W Revolvers. It had a cut out of the hammer and one for the trigger.

I have them made from hockey pucks, brass and hard nylon. I have cut a few out of red oak for special jobs.

I use a rubber wheel chock from Harbor Freight. You can easily cut it to accommodate most frames and slides.

If you go to your local community college and take machine shop courses, one of the projects early on will probably be to make a steel bench block. If you have time, make a couple of extras out of different materials such as nylon, aluminum, hard rubber, etc. A late friend of mine was an instructor for such a class and always had spares that students made then left behind, so I had a couple of extras to mess with.
