Default S&W pre war parts suppy

Who is a good source for pre war S&W parts? I tried Jack First, any others?
I need a upper back strap screw for a model 1913 and have placed want adds in both sections on the forum but so far no hits.

Default S&W pre war parts supply

Try Gun Parts for your item. I have ordered a few pre-war parts and they are not cheap but in a pinch, they seem to have the part.

It's going to be some old gun smith who will have one stashed away.

Default try ACE hardware?

If you know the thread diameter, pitch, head style, and length it may be possible to match it at any ACE hardware.

I know it doesn't sound legit but I've got 2 ACE hardware stores in my area, and BOTH have a separate drawer in the fasteners section marked specifically, "gun screws". I've found both the domed head and the flat head sideplate screws there in the past and they are genuinely blued (not some cold blue) with a high polish finish like factory.

Since ACE hardwares are independently owned franchises, it must be a standard thing with ACE to have these specific items in 2 different stores.

Again...…….if you know the above particulars from any good source, I'll be happy to look for you at ACE if you don't have any in your area

I have jars of gun screws and some gun parts that need to be identified. Can you better describe the screw? These are parts from an old gun repair service that closed in 1985.

Not all Ace hardware stores have the gun screws. And if they do, they're sometimes kept behind the counter so you have to ask for them.

Sorry I'm so late to respond but I just got out of the penalty box.

Hondo's parts list should be a sticky. Thank you.
