Restoring Etching on 629
I have a 629 Classic and the etching is rather faded. Can anyone recommend a good technique to restore it? Thanks

This doesn't look bad at all, lines are sharp, flats are straight which is the most important for a clean as factory look. From what I have seen any type of doctoring to make things 'better' typically comes out a lot worse than what it was before. Strong suggestion to leave this one alone.

I have the exact same issue on my 625 MG. A buddy of mine has a laser and is very good at reproducing logos. If I get up the nerve and we can match the factory logo exactly, we are gonna try it. I'll let you know how it turns out.

My 629 mtn gun and my 686 mtn gun are completely devoid of all that CHEAP CHEAP lazer etching.......Why put it back when with use and wear it will be gone again?.........S&W REALLY cheaped out when they went to lazer etching.
