Larry, Larry, Larry; you know that beautiful custom K327 deserves to be shod in something better than Mexican sandals made out of old tires! Oh, the shame of it!
I bet you have some smooth round butt combats that would set your newest project off perfectly and make your hands happy as well.
Regards,
Froggie

Hi Larry,
Wow, it came out great! The extra effort with the welding looks like it was worth it. Did you take any pictures of how it looked between your first post and this last post?

Thanks for the comments. Jim, only the pictures shown.
Mr Frog, I believe I found the grips for this gun. Our own 44Magget made these on my request, K round targets from some sort of spalted wood. Figured custom grips for a custom gun.
The holster shown was bought for this gun as it progressed. It’s for a 4” model 19 but seems OK for what I have. I will use it for display at the NE Ohio Bunch in 2 weeks and carry in cool/cold months with a jacket or coat on. Actually started to carry it today in a pocket holster, Larry

Very cool, the front site makes me think of the original registered magnums. Let us know how it shoots.

I’m thinking maybe spalted maple (?). They do look very nice indeed. I wonder, do those stocks cover the back strap or not? The factory version for K frames do not, but the aftermarket set I got from Thailand do, and I like the extra size there.
I sure wish I could come to the gathering of your OH S&W Posse. It sounds like there will be a lot of neat stuff there.

Oh Wow! I really like it! Why can’t S&W build me one!? Ruger has cornered the market for 327 but I’m a diehard Smith & Wesson fan.

Gave up waiting
I've been hoping S&W would see the light and get back on the 327 Rem Mag train. It's such a great round for self defense and any revolver chambered for it also shoots the soft but adequate 32 S&W, and 32 H&R Mag. Just got some 32 H&R Mag +P from Buffalo Bore. Real nice compromise from super hot 327 Mag for my Taurus M327. Great carry option. Just couldn't wait any longer for S&W and I'm real happy with the Taurus. Of course, if S&W did happen to finally release one like what the OP built I would be all over it. I think the K-frame is the ideal platform for a great handling 3" 327 Rem Mag carry rig.

This looks like a great project! Where did you get the barrel from?

Was lucky to find the barrel (a 4” 16-4) here in the forum classified, couldn’t type fast enough “I’ll take it”. Was gonna try to do some of the work myself but Andy Horvath did it all over a period of about 2 years. Should have just left it there at first, Larry

I was very surprised after doing some forum research that from the time froggie corrupted my mind with the idea of a K frame .327 Federal until I found the cylinder and barrel on ebay was about 5 years. I think it was a couple more until I found another barrel (8 3/8") for the second gun. Then you add in Andy's lead time and patience is truly a virtue.
