Question Buggered ejector rod...easy swap?

Hi folks,

I’m currently the caretaker of a 64-4 snub that has served admirably, save for the visual insult of a “which way does this thread” scratched ejector rod.

Is is simply a case of unscrew (correctly, please!) and replace with a less-marred example? Is the ejector rod fitted to the guide rod?

I have a replacement on the way, but wanted to check with those far more experienced than I.

Thanks !

I had one on a used S&W that a previous owner used a what looked like a plier on the knurled portion. Gouged it badly. Found one on the web. Simple un screw, The right direction of course, and install the new one.

The new one may require minor fitting to the front locking bolt.
