Default Roper K frame grips

I've heard of roper grips but never knew anything about them until today. I was looking at revolvers on Gunbroker and saw a registered magnum with a set of grips I recognized. I read the description and seller said they were ropers. I inherited a model 14 from my dad and it had these grips on it. I have since put factory targets on the gun. From the little googling I did ropers are valuable. Any thoughts on weather these are authentic?

Most certainly authentic! Beautiful grips and hard to find K frames without a thumbrest at that. And I'm curious, anything else special about the Mod 14 - modified hammer/trigger?

I’ve heard and seen Ropers since I was kid and probably had a few pieces with them but never really figured they were real valuable. They weren’t rare in the 60’s so wondering what’s a set like these worth these days ?

They sure look like original Ropers to me.
The telltale 2 smaller hook indents indicating
where the maker had them set up to work on them on the backsides usually mean Roper produced grips.

It's a 14-3 with a target trigger. Wear on each side of the barrel near the muzzle. Need to do some research on why my pics are upside down.

Your stocks look a lot like mine. Mine are K round butt to square conversions. Likely not too many of these around.

Oh my!!! I’ve seen quite a few Ropers but those are outstanding. Choice wood on top of a rare configuration.

I bet they'd exceed $600 on ebay.

Welcome! I agree they appear to be original Roper stocks; a few talented stock makers today make replicas today, but the signs of earlier production methods show on yours.

Your model 14 looks original/stock and may be worth about the same as the Ropers . Enjoy!

Hosspower--
I recently pulled out the below .38 Safety Hammerless break top to replace the hand spring, it was actually given to me back in the '70's.
Like you, I didn't know much about Roper stocks until recently, and have discovered that they're worth way more than the cut down reblued gun that they're on.

20/20 hindsight is a good way to drive yourself crazy or drink. So Ropers like Pythons that many of us passed on or passed up years ago come back haunt you. I have two guns still wearing Ropers but this is my prettiest. Sorry gun is the wrong species but just ignore the revolver and look at the grips.
