Hi all,

I’m in need of a bobbed hammer for my S&W model 19 Carry Comp. I’d like a drop-in replacement, but I’m not 100% against just purchasing a replacement hammer and either bobbing it myself of having it done. Do you all know where I could find either of these items? Any help is appreciated!

ebay has been where I purchased a few Hammers, Triggers and misc parts. You just NEED TO BE CAREFUL and read the descriptions closely! Make SURE the Seller has 100% perfect feedback (or damned close to it) and make sure there is a returns accepted policy just on case the part is not what he says it is. So far I have been lucky and the parts I've purchased have been spot on as to what they were advertised as - that said, be cautious.

There are even still a few brand new ones - some have all the parts in them while others are just the plain "raw" hammer themselves and no internal springs or sear. Bobbing them is not a hard job and something you can do yourself.

Thanks chief. I looked today on eBay, but couldn’t find any of the new style hammers. Maybe on will show up on there soon

Put in a search and you'll get an email every morning that there's a new listing for a bobbed hammer. Sometimes takes awhile but you will find one.

I would advise to always use the double action sear from your original hammer; it's fitted to your trigger.
