CLEANING THOUGHTS
Not sure where I read this, about using BRASS 'pipe screens' for cleaning a bit of lead build up. Local shop here, I got 5 for 30 cents-- bought a couple dollars worth. Also spoke about putting a patch behind the brass screen sort of a Lewis Lead type operation-- We'll see. Using the 1" size

Don't know exactly what type of Brass LLR uses and don't know what type of Brass the Pipe Cleaners are. If they are indeed the same type - them I'd say use them but how you would be able to find out - that's the tough part.
I just recently purchased a piece of Brass Rod from McMaster - Carr and Brass is not all the same!

Give it a try. The brass will not scratch the bore so the worst that can happen is it won't work well.

I know how a Lewis Lead Remover works , had never heard of these pipe screens until read discussion yesterday , father , grandfather and uncle all smoked pipes ... none of their pipes had screens ...
These "pipe screens" might be used an alternative to LLR screens.
Waiting to see how they work with a cleaning rod ... Good Post!

Poor man's Lewis Lead Remover; wrap strands of pure copper Chore Boy (not the copper plated steel material found in other brands) around a bronze bore brush.
