Pinned Barrel in Non pinned Revolver
Got a J&G Sale Model 10 RB which is with no barrel. I have a 2 inch barrel from a pinned Model 10 in the junk drawer.
Can I have the barrel installed without issues?

Welcome to the Forum.
Yes, a good gunsmith can fit that barrel to your frame. The pin is really just window dressing, even though it does look good there.

An unpinned barrel will fit on a frame with no barrel pin...but you’ll need a shorter extractor rod and center pin if your barrel-less model 10 was not originally a 2”.

When you go shopping for a shorter extractor rod you'll need one with left hand threads.
Your center pin can easily be shortened.

I think all of those revolvers are mostly M10-7's with round butt. The extractor rods are for the 2" barrels, as all of those were 2" barreled revolvers with the barrel removed before importing. I also purchased one and have a 2" pinned barrel for it. I will fit it this winter when I have time for another winter project.

It may not have not been necessary, but the pin was used to help hold the barrel in place, based on the design and engineering principals of the day. I've never had a barrel loosen on any non-pinned gun (including all of my Colts), but the pin is a reminder of the old school attention to detail and craftmanship of the past.

As noted above, the 'pinned' barrel shouldn't be a problem.

I bought two of these, and recently finished my first one with a two inch barrel, and bobbed and polished hammer and trigger. Still fiddling with the action.
Number two will most likely get a 4" barrel cut down to 3" if I can't find a 3" barrel. I already picked up a long ejector rod for it.
