As alluded to above I called the home office today with regard to a K-22 that came in with damage to the rear face of the cylinder (severe peening).
A conversation with a friendly, knowledgeable sounding guy who shall remain nameless yielded the following:
1. They are swamped with work.
2. The performance center was closed for about a month.
3. They had a, I think the term he used was, a reorganization.
4. They took the usual two weeks off in August.
5. Only 10 shot K frame 22 cylinders in stock. No 6 Shot!
6. They are only doing warranty work now. They are
turning down older guns like the 1972 K-22 referenced
above.
Suggested I call back in a month or send it to a couple of well respected names in firearms repair we discussed. He knew Dr. Ford's number off the top of his head.
This comes with the usual disclaimer that if you call back and talk to someone different you may get a different answer and neither my hearing nor my cognita are what they once were.
Report ends.
