Pistol Light
I am considering adding a light to my bed side pistol.
Is there a light with an attachment for this purpose ?

I put a Streamlight TLR-1 HL on my FNX 40 in the nightstand. I use it to take the hoochy pooch out in the dead of the night more than anything. We do have copperheads in warmer weather, and possums roam the yard all night.
I don't want some stray coyote snatching my little buddy either. It throws a light all across my yard and even lights up my target stand 100 yards away. Easy on/off switch too. I got it used at a pawn shop, ($90 bucks) well, second hand really, it had never been mounted on a gun.
They are about $130 new I believe. Hope that helps Jimmy.

If you have a pistol with a rail, it makes mounting easy and increases your options for lights. I have an Inforce MX-6 mounted on my EAA Witness...my only railed pistol...and kept in a quick access safe close to our bed. This one’s a little bulky, but it also has a laser module built in. The streamlights and surefires are less bulky.

One thing about a pistol light. It'll give the bad guy something to shoot at.

It should not. It may, however, reduce the muzzle flip/rise a little...which is a good thing. And, depending on the type/weight of the light (on a polymer framed pistol), and, depending on the type/make of pistol, it could cause the frame to flex just enough to slow the slide speed down enough to cause a malfunction. Unlikely, but possible....I have seen it happen.

The only guns I've heard of that have cycling issues were certain models of that Austrian tupperware. Even then, it didn't seem to be an issue with all examples.
Any time difference between using the support hand or gun hand to turn the light on is about 1/8 sec. Not really worth worrying about.
A second vote for the TLR-1, I've got an original and the later C4 version. The C4 puts out a lot more light. Positive target ID is a very good thing.
BTW, used indoors there's generally enough reflected light to make you visible regardless of where/how you hold any light. Having the light on the firearm can free up a hand when you might need it.

Pistol Light
Loving my “Olight PL Mini 2 Valkyrie” on my Sig 226 Legion. Pops on/off the gun with a flip of the lever, and more importantly, it’s rechargeable (magnetic charger attaches to the circle on bottom of unit). This is my nightstand gun these days.

This 110%
I’d rather take a chance of drawing fire than to accidentally shoot my wife or one of my kids.
My inforce light has a momentary rocker switch right where your off hand thumb rests with a two handed grip. You don’t even have to adjust your grip to give it quick flick of the thumb and flash your target. I would not advocate using a steady beam to search out the cause of a “bump in the night”, but target ID can be made very quickly with minimal exposure, IMO.
