Default Refinished model 10

I bought this model 10-7 and it had some blemishes on the cylinder. I wanted a dark hard finish and sent it to H&M Blacknitride in Arizona.
I received it back and when I tried to reassemble it I could not get the cylinder into cylinder window and I could not get the cylinder to revolve on the barrel of the yoke. I worked for 2 hours with a stone to remove build up on barrel and the end of the yoke. I also had to stone the end of the barrel to get proper gaps.
The finish has a matt hue to it and is supposed to be very resistant to salts like off your hand. The finish is supposed to have a bit of self lube quality to it.
This is better photo.

Looks great to me!
I have a 1911 with a black nitride finish and I am quite pleased with the appearance and durability.

I had to totally disassemble the gun, specifically no springs left in gun as process will damage springs. The cost with return shipping $225.
The gun works fine now I had not fit parts like I did, rather refit parts in this case, since I went through armorers school in 1979.
I would guess that I did not remove more than 2 thousands of an inch on any part of the gun most of build up was related to the cylinder and yoke.
I will shoot it next week.

Your 10-7 appears to have a pinned barrel. I have a round butt 10-7 that does not have the pinned barrel. Wonder why the difference?
