Looks like a 686 no-dash. I agree looking for a period correct barrel makes sense. Any particular reason you want to restore it to factory?
You might be better off finding a stock 686 to your liking, buying it and then moving this one along.
Nonetheless, you can certainly do this, if by that you mean have someone who knows what they're doing removing and replacing a revolver barrel do it. Not for the inexperienced...
