Default Pistol Smith in New York

Can anyone recommend a true Pistol Smith on Long Island or in the downstate New York Area?

Looking for someone who really knows Model 52s.

Bob

I've lived here all my life and can tell you without reservation I know of NO Gunsmith on LI that I'd recommend! That is why I have done all my own work for 40+ years now. Seriously (and sadly), I can tell you many horror stories and not many good ones from friends who have used LGS here. I'd suggest that you seek out someone who really knows the M52 and who has great reviews.

This is especially important when working on a discontinues model that parts might be hard to come by. I wish I had better news for you but you asked and that is my honest opinion. Good luck with your hunt. If you don't mind, what are you looking to have done? I am just curious......

Gunsmithing LTD in Fairfield CT has an outstanding reputation. Mitch has been there a long time. He’s right behind the Ruger office on Lacey Place in Fairfield…not too far from you. They are honest, know their stuff, and do quality work.

Check out blue line tactical in Elmsford. It's in Westchester which is about 45 min drive but the smiths there know what they're doing

Jojo's Gunworks in Southington CT is highly recommended by a prosecutor friend up in that area.

Research your options, and pick quality over convenience.

I used Mitch years ago when I lived not too far, he’s excellent.

I believe Jojo passed away. It may not be the same now.
