I'm looking to cut down a 5" 625 to 3". Can someone recommend a gunsmith in Oregon or Washington to do the work with a Weigand front sight replacement? Or should I just eat the $120 in 2-way shipping and go with SDM, Apex or Bowen?
Thanks,
Mike

Quality work is cheap compared to trying to fix butchery.

No offense, mate, but did I indicate I was looking for butchery? I'm trying to direct a little work to local quality smiths.

Grant Cunningham in Portland is one of the best revolver smiths in the country but I don't know if he is taking on any new work. He did an absolutely amazing trigger/action job on a Colt Cobra for me. Goggle his name for the website. Lots of good info on his site as well.

+1 on his trigger jobs. I used one at the range last year and have been on his waiting list for about that long with still a wait ahead of me.

Thanks, Gents. Just what I was looking for. Now I can start saving and get myself on the waiting list!
Best,
Mike

No, you did not, but the cost of shipping is only part of it, and what you want is quality work. Pick quality first, then worry abut the investment you have to make to get it.
My phrasing was imprecise.
