Default J Frame Combat Trigger?

Recently I bought some J-Frame, smooth face, target/combat triggers. They are non-MIM, about .305-.307 inches wide.
I can’t remember ever seeing these as “factory-installed” on any J-frames. Were they something that came on a particular model or are they aftermarket parts/accessories?

I believe that the 31-1, the later production 34 and the 36-1 all had the smooth combat triggers from the factory. There may have been others and I'm sure folks on here with more expertise than I will be along to fill out the list. Cheers.

The trigger width dimensions are "nominal" and do vary. It's not after market. It's the J frame standard trigger introduced in 1986, and you're right, it's not yet an MIM unless it has a hollow back (see below):

1984-89 – optional .400” Grooved/.335” grooved & smooth J frame triggers, and the standard and optional .500”/.400” K, L & N frame grooved and smooth target triggers were no longer offered.

1986 - New smooth forged combat trigger became standard: .312” J, .312 - .320” K, L & N, including MIM triggers, and in 2003 MIM .340” X frame trigger.

1997-8 – MIM hammer, frame mounted firing pin, and hollow back MIM smooth trigger .312” J, .312-.320” K, L & N, and in 2003, .340” X frame all introduced (date and dash number vary by model).
