Default Trigger assembly hand

Was reassembling after cleaning a J frame and accidentally articulated the hand of the trigger assembly too far, causing it to stick rearward without normally retracting, however I can position it forward properly, and it doesn't seem to have jumped the spring. I can tell it now has a lower threshold to stick rearward, but only if pushed past the point it normally moves during action. Once reassembled the gun is operating flawlessly in regards to timing and lock up. May this be ok to leave be, or should I go through the trouble of rebuilding it, perhaps with a new spring?

Should be fine. Try it with the gun held barrel straight up.

To clarify, the hand does not take much tension to engage the ratchet, With a broken spring or no spring at all it may work just with its own weight with barrel down. With barrel straight up the spring must be working to engage teeth and turn cylinder,

Thank you steelslaver, it's working fine in all orientations, and so I won't worry about it for now.

I will gladly listen to your advice if you post some. Holding a revolver barrel up is a quick check. If the spring isn't working it will not cycle the cylinder.

That’s known as a “new learning experience “.
