I just sold 3 entire bolt assemblies. My gunsmith passed and now on my own. Rem 141 not that hard to work on. Any real smith will have no trouble.

It seems that there are few parts available for these guns except used parts which have their own problems.

Wisners Gun Parts makes a very few new small parts for the 14 and 141.
Small run production so sometimes listed as OOS. But an email or call can bring results anyway.
Remington Pump-Action CF | Wisner's Inc

The 141 has been out of production for 70+ yrs so most all of the parts around will be just those stripped from less than perfect rifles. That's a problem when repairing a lot of the older classic stuff.
You get a worn or replacement part to replace the worn out part in your gun.

Rebuilding a worn part is the next step and most gunsmiths aren't in to that.
Parts changing is their limit usually,,restoration/rebuilding parts is not their thing.
But often it's not that difficult and as Drm50 stated, the14/141 series isn't that complicated. The cartridge stop takes some finesse to fit. Remington assembly had a set of simple plug gauges to help do the job quickly and accurately.

Does anyone on this forum know of a gentleman named Jim Peterson who actually stocks parts for and repairs these rifles?? I believe he is located in Charlotte, NC if memory serves correctly?? However, I have no contact information for him and have had no luck trying to find any. Thanks!

Jim posts or did post,,on the Remington Collectors Society Forum

Remington Society - Index page

Usually in the Remington Rifles ,,post 1898 section

His screen name was/is 'nambujim' (without the quotes).

I say was and did because I don't know if he still posts there or if he is still with us to be absolutely honest with you.

You have to sign up and join the Forum and become a member to be able to PM or see the emails of the other members there.

Jim fitted a new barrel to a Model 14 for me a few years back, and also sold me a hard to find rear sight. Somehow he got hold of a big parts inventory for 14's and 141's from Remington. He was a nice man to deal with. Very knowledgeable about these models. I have his e-mail and physical addresses. PM me if you need them.

Thank you! I did manage to get ahold of Jim and had him replace a part in my 141. He was very reasonable price-wise and did the work quickly and returned the part quickly. Very nice guy and great about answering questions I sent him.
