Default Colorado 3rd Gen Gunsmith?

With the retirement last year of my favorite gunsmith, I need an in-state Colorado individual experienced with 3rd Gens.

Any recommendations?

Unfortunately, most gunsmiths today are AR-15 assemblers, tactical scope mounters, Glock sight replacers and experts in FDE cerakote.

I am not sure if he has any experience with 3rd Gens but I had some custom work done by Lewis Throne, dba Throne Arms, in Trinidad.

It was around 2017 last I had work done so not sure what his status is.

Great guy to deal with.

I agree with you, the woods are full of parts changers, but very few gunsmiths. If you find one, please post.

If you're in the Fort Collins area, I would recommend Chuck Holt, at Rocky Mountain Shooters Supply. Cannot vouch for his familiarity with Gen 3, but he's been really good with my K's and N's, as well as various shotguns and rifles.
As an aside, he's also an NRA High Master, who knows how to get the most out of his pistols.
