Has anyone used house hold ammonia to clean copper fouling out of barrel groves?
After a range trip with my 460 XVR and shooting 80 rounds, my barrel grooves were bright shiny copper coated. With many repetitions with No. 9 soaked patches, wait, passes with bronze brush, clean patch, and then start all over, I slill can't get the barrel back to clean stainless steel.
I have seen that some (expensive) copper fouling cleaners contain ammonia, so why can't I just use house hold ammonia? Of course I would clean all traces of ammonia off.
