K-22 Cylinder source
Does anyone know if it is possible to get a new (or nearly new) K-22 cylinder/extractor star without a SN stamped? And if so, about how much might it cost? I have a very good ca. 1959 K-22 but its cylinder is pretty badly dinged up and gouged, beyond the point where simple polishing and refinishing is practical.

I would try Numrich - Gun Parts, Popperts, Jack First and start going to some local Gun Shows which usually have parts guys there. I have no idea about cost but if you find one in good condition you will be ahead of the game.

K22 cylinders are a rare commodity even in the used market and bring a premium price when you do find them.
While looking for one recently, I contacted S&W about one fit to my 17-5(to scalp for a .32 build) and was told
they could still fit one for this - number, as luck would have it I found one on Ebay for much less than the refit
from S&W?

I have managed to find a couple for projects, but they do require some looking you have to be patient. An ad on here that you keep near the top and constantly checking ebay is your best bet.

Last I looked, Numrich had cylinders and stars for some Mod. 17's
Likely worth taking a look or calling.

I just checked Nuneric's and they don't have any model 17 cylinders listed at
present, nor have I seen any in the past??

Sounds like s&w not only has them but will fit to your gun. Now, if you can just get them to bore to .32 while they’re at it.

No way, get a qualified gunsmith to ream your cylinder. Check out the thread 616 and check in this forum for ongoing projects.
