Just got a 686 6" and want to have an Action/ Trigger job done on it.
Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith in the Phoenix area? Thank you

Nelson Ford is very good, worked on a couple guns for me:

Oops,Rufus beat me to it. Frank Glenn is very good. He built Bianchi cup winning S&W revolvers for the likes of Rob Leatham, Brian Enos, and D. Koenig.
I have had a couple dealings with him, and find him dependable and a top notch gunsmith.
I am not sure where Glendale is in relation to Pheonix?

He told me about a week or maybe sooner. He's a really nice to talk to. He gave me a few tips on loading w/ sp. loaders.

I may be purchasing a revolver that is in Phoenix and I may have them drop it off their first before it gets shipped to me.

Son-of-Gun Picked up my 686 this morning.Can't believe the difference in the trigger pull. It was worth every penny.
Frank is great to do business with and does great work.

which trigger job did you opt for?

Not using it for carry, I went for the Gusto "S&W Match Action Job" and had the cylinders chamfered to help loading.

LW, sorry for all questions.

with this action, do you plan to reload with federal primers or plan to use factory ammo?

let us know about reliability in the area of ignition with this type of action job?

No problem on questions. I'm just starting to get into this and its all new to me.
I don't reload. He set it to where he thought it would fire 38 spl and reloads and showed me how to adjust the Hammer spring screw if I got miss fires. I'm not going to shoot .357s in I don't think. Frank did say if I started to reload to use Federal primers

Go to Nelson Ford. He's been doing revolver work for me for about 30 years and I can always count on a good job.
