I have inherited several S&W 5 screw revolvers and want to remove the cylinders for cleaning.
Whats the proper method of removing the cylinders?
Thanks for your help.

If all you want to do is dismount the cylinder assembly from the weapon the one screw at the bottom near the front of the trigger guard will let you do that. You just remove the screw, open the cylinder and the whole assembly with the crane will slide off towards the front of the weapon. If you want to take the cylinder assembly apart, that gets a little more interesting.
