Worry about the lock...it is a politically-initiated modification to a historically-proven design dating back a century or more.

Especially, if you shoot heavier loads, beware of reliability.

Thanks for your responses. I was reading The IL fix by mickstix and got
to tell you I'm leaning that way. I really don't want to have a reliability concern w/ +P loads, especially in a defensive carry gun.

Bullseye, I know I'm way down the foodchain here as far as S&W knowledge goes but from what I've heard I'm figuring it's better to remove all doubt about even a remotely possible issue w/ the IL.
Am I way off base here?

Jac, the locks are not a problem, its an old wives tale. enjoy any gun you buy, lock or not.
