HELP! Launched my bolt plunger/spring...
OK, complete brainfart as I was doing a disassembly to get the lint out of my 649-3. I did not cover the bolt plunger & spring as I removed the bolt, away it went - and into a large pile of **** in the corner of the basement, mostly boxes of xmas stuff, it appears.
After 3 hours of searching to no avail, I'm ready to order- but I don't see any listings at either the Brownells or Midway sites.
Anyone know where I can find replacements?
Parts 3 and 4 in the schematic.
Thanks in advance!

I would just call S&W. They'll probably send you these parts free.

Rent or borrow one of those roofing nail magnets and go through the stuff it should come right out to the magnet.

order spares as brain farts are a re-occurring event.
my garage probably has enough springs and detents on the floor to start a parts supply.

Brownells has them. I have bought a ton of S&W parts from them. If you can't find it, call and ask to talk to a tech. They will get you taken care of.

Looks like I'll be on the phone to Brownell's Monday.
Thanks, All

I like to use a large clear plastic bag to disassemble, any part that flies off cannot go far and remains in the bag.
My 2¢.
