Cool FIBER OPTIC SIGHTS.....HELP

My son and I shoot USPSA / we would like to go in and shoot
revolver also.... we shoot 38 super limited know. I picked up 3
very nice revolvers to start 646-3 / 625-3 and a 617-4 10 shot
to practice with...... 22's are cheep. I would like to put some
better sights , we do a lot of indoor shoot. The light is sometimes
not ..... good. What kind of fiber optic sights would you guys get.
Thanks for the help.... Glenn/Austin

Default unexpected result

I have one gun that had a fiber optic sight. It was useless at our indoor range until one day the optic rod fell out while shooting.
Then I had light from the target streaming through the hole where the rod was missing.
This was actually better than having a fiber optic sight and I have not replaced the rod.
Now who would have thought that a sight with a hole in the front
would be better than a fiber optic rod?
Not me. but I'm going to keep shooting the gun without the rod.
I know this is a bit unusual, but it is a personal experience which had surprisingly good results.
The targets do need to be well lit but it is something to think about for indoor range use. YMMV

I have fiber optics LPA I believe on several Smiths they are great outdoors where they can gather light but offer no real advantage on the indoor range as it is poorly lit over the guns.

A buddy of mine, a USPSA master shooter, does custom sights. Here are the FO for my 617.

Hi-viz sights work better for me on a carry gun, because the fiber optic rod is shrouded in plastic and protected. SDM makes sights that are not "shrouded", and seem to transfer more light. The rod in the SDM can be changed easily if broken or a change in color is desired.

These fiber optic sights from C&S work very well, but I prefer the SDM front sight (which is now on this gun).
