I've been playing with a lot of loads lately and casting new bullets. I just got a set of Lee dies for their 125 grain bullet and I'm about to cast up a few hundred and see how they go.

I've always use 158, 160, 170 and 180 grain bullets for their grouping capability. Does anyone find the 125s to be accurate? How about follow up shots?

I desided to go to those Cone Shapped 125 grn 9mm cast bullets for ICORE. They come out of the mold big enough I can still get a 358 diameter I loose too much time loading (I use conventional speed loaders) my SWCs were just too slow.

Anyway, I was worried about changing impact on my fixed sight Model 64. Even at 25 yards it shoots close enough to keep me in the A ring and its a heck of a lot faster.

I use 4.5 grns of Unique. I haven't cronagraphed them yet to see if they make the magic 120,000 power factor. I might have to up the powder charge a tad.

Just load a few and see how they work.

IMHO you're going backwards in the ICORE loading game.

The recoil is less with the 158gr bullet than the 125 gr bullet if both are loaded to the same power factor!

Why? Power factor is momentum but the faster bullet has more energy.
