More specifically a model 3566 Limited converted to 9mm. In case anyone doesn't know what that is, it is basically a model 5906 with single action trigger, and a 5" barrel originally chambered for the extinct .356 TSW (9mm x 21.5mm).
I'm just getting into the sport and it seems like it would be a good gun for that application. However, its probably a red-headed step child that would fall into an equipment class that puts it at a disadvantage.

Well, it's not ideal for a sectional if you're trying to win, but you could shoot Limited-10 (Minor) in Club matches and have a ball.
It works even better in IDPA/ESP, where 9mm is the norm.
Do you own it?
If so, shoot it. It is not ideal for the sport but as long as it is reliable it will serve to get you started. Best to enter Limited 10 because a 15 shot magazine is not enough for Limited and Open pretty much demands a compensator and optical sight. You can't shoot Production with a single action. Minor Power Factor scoring will be a disadvantage but it will give you an incentive to shoot accurately.
If you do not already own it, there are better choices in the present competitive range.

So if I had some 25 round magazines for it, how would it be for limited class?
