In the case of my PPC revolvers, I shoot everything double action so the hammer spur is an unnecessary item. On a couple of my belly guns the hammer is bobbed for comfort.

I haven't looked in a PPC rulebook for decades. However, there was a specification for a minimum single action trigger pull weight if the weapon was capable of single action.

Since most PPC guns were tuned for double action (the bulk of the course), most couldn't possibly meet the SA pull weight requirement. So, the hammer was bobbed to 'eliminate the single action capability'.

A lighter hammer will allow a lighter DA pull. Rimfires excepted.

Thank you . I was trying to decide if I wanted to bob it or not. I shoot IDPA and it looked like everybody else had there hammer bobbed. You can tell I'm new at this. Just trying to Figure it out.
